PTO News - March 2011
The CES PTO would like to thank everybody for donations and participation with our annualspringfling Spring Fling.

Raffle Winners were:  iPod-Angie Shambel; bike-Devin Powers; Tim McGraw tickets-Kathy Taylor; $25.00– Kristina Wilson; and candles-Kim Archer.  Mrs. Powers’ homeroom won the dance.   Spring Fling Totals:

Raffle profit:  $2,999.81     Pie in the face:  $277.57
Country Store:  $1,741.00 Regular auction:  $187.00
Silent auction:  $87.00 Donations:  $320.00

Total profit for Spring Fling was $7,627.73.  That’s $2077.00 more than last year.

Attending: President Allen Schehl, VP Beth Gaydos, Guidance Counselor John Defibaugh, Secretary Vickie Snyder, Judy Brown.

Minutes were moved for approval by John and Judy seconded.

No treasurer’s report.

Administrative Report: attached

New Business:

The group approved $32.00 yearbook ad expense to be paid.
Judy agreed to represent the group at the Awards Assembly on May 28th for awarding the book reimbursements & guidelines.

Secretary will print and fold several brochures to be placed at all seats for the Honors Banquet. Official Board members please plan to attend. Allen will speak in the organization’s behalf.

Logo: it was mentioned that a logo is needed for easy recognition of our organization on our brochure, our letters, in advertising, etc., the yearbook ad as an example. Judy suggested that we make it a contest for students to compete in. Allen stated at our May meeting we would work up the guidelines for the contest that could run in the fall.

Old Business:
Book Reimbursement applications are being announced and some are being turned in.
Membership Drive: Food Center sent in their annual donation of $500.00 for the MVP of the basketball game against Shenandoah.

Bars and Letters are in, bill is yet to be given to the treasurer to be paid.

In preparation for the 2010-2011 school year,  Caldwell Elementary School is conducting a survey of those children who will be attending kindergarten this fall.  Please call the school  (732-4614) if you have a child who will be attending kindergarten in the fall.

3/16 - Math
3/17 - Writing
3/18 - Science
3/19 - Social Studies
Please update the website with current/future events - items needed include: schedules for Spring sports; updates on meetings for Board of Education; Athletic Boosters, etc.  Anyone who is submitting information on the site should keep their information updated & encourage the use of our website - not just ProgressBook (even though its a great tool, there is alot more we could take advantage of on the site).

  Advocate for our school & the many benefits gained from the extra-curricular activities (Band, choir, sports, Art, etc).

Vote YES on the levy March 4th !
